MUSIC BY THE MILE BANDS ON THE COURSE Showcase your band to tens of thousands of runners, walkers and spectators on May 6, 2012 - the 23rd running of the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon! Runners and spectators will enjoy a variety of music, live bands and other entertainment that will motivate participants to reach their personal best!
- The opportunity to perform in front of tens of thousands. Over 18,000 runners and walkers and more than 30,000 spectators were along the course in 2011
- Bands will be posted on 2 websites with a link to the band’s website, a bio, photo, and mp3. PittsburghMarathon.com as well as our media partner’s website will post all the band information for the 2012 race.
- Bands will be listed in the Official Marathon Guide
- Volunteer shirt and invitation to volunteer party
When is the race?
- The race will take place Sunday, May 6, 2012
- Bands will setup between 5 AM and 8 AM on race morning depending on the area of the course you are assigned
- Bands will likely play for 2-4 hours depending on course assignment
Additional Information
- Band provides instruments, microphones, extension cords, speakers, PA systems, and anything else needed to perform
- No stages will be provided
- Electricity and shelter will be provided, if necessary – provide information in “Special Requests” section on the application
- Tarps will be provided to serve as walls around 12’x12’ pop-up canopies
