(James T. McCay) Water and fuel demands increase as your running distance increases. Have about one-half cup of fluids every twenty minutes and a snack of simple carbohydrates (such as sports gels, packets of honey, and energy drinks), every 45 minutes. Avoid fiber, protein and fat because these take longer to digest and can cause stomach cramps. For recovery nutrition, don't forget that real food can be just as good as, if not better than, sports bars and powders. |
MARATHON RELAY REGISTRATION
REGISTRATION ANNOUNCEMENT – March 8, 2010 - SOLD OUT
The FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay is completely SOLD OUT. There is no waiting list for this event but there are a limited number of registrations for this event available through our charities. If your team has already been created but you have not yet registered as a team member, follow the steps below.

Registering a relay team online
Because the FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay is SOLD OUT, no new teams are being accepted.
How do I register as a Team Member? (note: this is for teams that were created prior to the event sell out)
- Click here to register as a Relay Team Member
- Click Register Now again.
- Log into your Active Account, create an Active Account or register through Guest Access. (We recommend registering through Guest Access.)
- To select your category, choose the 4th event - FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay Team.
- Accept the waiver; enter your name and birthday; click on Agree and Continue.
- Choose your team name from the drop down box, enter your team password and all of your personal information.
- Once you click Continue, you will be directed to the payment page. In the Cart Summary, the amount owed will be zeroed out. Click on Submit.
REGISTRATION RULES
- No refunds or deferments of entry fees
- Bib transfers for this event are permitted for a $20 fee. Visit our FAQs page.
- Minimum age for Marathon: 18 on May 2, 2010
- Minimum age for Half Marathon: 16 on May 2, 2010
- Minimum age for Marathon Relay: 14 on May 2, 2010
- Marathon relay team captain must pay entire registration fee when registering the team.
- Paper/mail-in registrations will not be accepted after January 31, 2010
- Online registration will close at midnight April 18, 2010. Any changes to registration after this date will only be permitted at the Health and Fitness Expo on Marathon weekend
