REGISTRATION QUESTIONS
When I search "Confirm My Registration" my name is not appearing in the results. What can I do?
Each participant registering themselves has to opt-in to be included in the "Confirm My Registration" search. At this time, the registration database is closed and participants cannot make any edits to their registration information. If you would like to confirm your registration, please call our office at 412-586-7785.
Can I make edits to my registration (i.e. pace time, age, gender)?
At this time, the registration database is closed and participants cannot make any edits to their registration information. Any edits to your registration must be made at the Runner Services booth at the GNC Live Well Pittsburgh Health and Fitness Expo on race weekend.
I was registered by someone else, at an Expo or sent in a paper registration form. Do I need to claim my registration?
Yes, in order to view your registration, you must first claim your registration. To claim your registration, visit MyEvents.Active.com and login or create a new account if you don’t have one. Once you are logged in, a “Claim Registration” box will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Here, you will need to enter the registration number that was included in your event confirmation email.
I need to transfer my Marathon, Half Marathon Team Member or 5K registration, but did not transfer before online registration closed. Can I still process the registration transfer?
Yes, you can still transfer your registration to another person. To transfer your registration you will need to provide the following items to the new participant:
- Completed Registration Transfer Form
- Confirmation Ticket - you will receive your confirmation ticket in the mail 1-2 weeks prior to race day
- $30 registration transfer fee – cash or check (made payable to Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc.)
By providing all of these items to the new participant you will not need to attend the Expo; if you do not provide the new participant with your completed Registration Transfer Form or the $30 registration transfer fee, you will need to visit the Runner Services booth with the new participant. You will receive a refund of your original registration fee 2-4 weeks after race weekend. Team members will not receive a refund. Please contact our office at 412-586-7785 if you have any questions.
I received a Marathon, Half Marathon, Team Member or 5K transferred registration. How do I complete this process now that online registration is closed?
The original runner will need to provide you with the following items:
- Completed Registration Transfer Form
- Original participant’s Confirmation Ticket
- $30 registration transfer fee - cash or check (made payable to Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon, Inc.)
You must bring these three items to the Expo to have the registration transferred into your name; if you do not receive the completed Registration Transfer Form or the $30 registration transfer fee, the original participant must visit the Runner Services booth with you. Use the original participant’s Confirmation Ticket to pick-up their race number; after picking up the race number, stop and pick-up your race shirt. You will receive the original participant’s shirt (gender and size). Take the race number, completed registration transfer form and $30 registration transfer fee to Runner Services to have the registration transferred into your name. To save time, fill out your registration form now and bring it with you to the Expo. If you are receiving a Marathon registration you will need to pay the current registration rate of $120. If you are receiving a Half Marathon registration you will need to pay the current registration rate of $110. Please note that transfers are within the same event category, i.e. Marathon to Marathon, Half Marathon to Half Marathon, etc. If you want to switch event categories, additional fees will apply if available; see the race switching question below.
Can I switch to a different event (i.e. from the Marathon to the Half Marathon)?
A limited number of race switches will be available race weekend; participants will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants should pick up their race number at the GNC Live Well Pittsburgh Health and Fitness Expo and turn it in to the Runner Services booth. Participants switching race weekend are not guaranteed a race shirt or finishers medal for the event they are switching into.
There is a $30 fee to switch categories. Please note that you will not receive a refund if the category you are switching into is less than the category in which you originally registered. Also, if the category you are switching into is more expensive than the category in which you originally registered, you will be charged the difference between the current category rate and the rate that you originally paid.
I am registered for the Marathon Relay. Can I switch to another race weekend event?
Due to the team registration functionality, race switching is not available for the Marathon Relay. You cannot switch from the Marathon, Half Marathon or 5K into the Marathon Relay and vice versa. Please email kpavlich@pittsburghmarathon.com for additional information.

Team captains will automatically be registered as a team member when they register, pay and create a Relay Team. Team Captains do not have to register a second time as a team member. The course is closed to automobile traffic. It is a scenic tour of the bridges and neighborhoods of the city of Pittsburgh. Many of the neighborhoods hold festivals on race day. Can you tell me about your water and aid stations?
There will be 20 fluid stations and 16 aid stations along the route. The aid stations are staffed by the UPMC Sports Medicine medical personnel and trainers.
